Adelaide International Raceway
Adelaide International Raceway (AIR) was built in 1972, and has a run a number of events including Drag Racing, Nascar, Touring Cars and Drift cars. The race track is dominated by its 920 meter long main straight which is also the drag strip and the front straight of the Super Bowl.
AIR has hosted numerous national drag racing championships over the years, as well as regular off-street racing for road cars. The track then went unused and had not seen drag racing since the late 1990s. In April 2012 top line drag racing made its return to AIR for the first ANDRA meeting at the track for over 10 years with the ANDRA Pro Series 1000, which marked the Australian debut of 1,000-foot (305m) drag racing. At subsequent events, Pro Stock Motorcycle has been run over the full 1/4 mile distance.
The success of recent ANDRA Drag Racing Series Springnationals and Pro 1000 Series held at AIR is largely due to the passion of the promoter Rino D’Alfonso and his crew at Racing Onn Promotions.

Calder Park Raceway
Calder Park Raceway is one of the oldest motor sport venues in Australia. It was originally a dirt track for motoring enthusiasts racing FJ Holdens and the Australian Motor Sports Club hosted their first meeting on a bitumen track in 1962. Like it’s sister facility, AIR, the main straight of the circuit features a drag strip.
For many years the track hosted the ANDRA Australian Nationals but had not hosted any ANDRA national events since 2001. In Oct 2013 the ANDRA Drag Racing Series returned to Calder Park with the running of the one day Nitro Thunder event over the 1000ft distance featuring Pro Stock Motorcycle. Following the Apr 2014 Southern Nationals, it became apparent that the track condition was not suitable for the current generation of ANDRA Drag Racing Series group one vehicles.
Track upgrades are expected to be complete in time for the running of the next scheduled Pro Stock Motorcycle event in Jan 2016. Calder Park is unique among Australian drag strips in that the promotion of events is by ANDRA itself.
